THE PRESTIGIOUS ANNUAL AWARD OF THE BELGRADE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE GIVEN TO “BEOGRADSKE ELEKTRANE”
                      Permanently Raising the Scale
This time, the prize “Commercial Winner” has been awarded to the youngest public utility service in Belgrade but also to the biggest system for producing and distributing heating energy in SE Europe. Along with the renewal and modernization of the system, from 2001 until March 2008, new five million square meters of apartments and office space has been attached to remote heating

On the traditional manifestation of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, held on May 22nd 2008 in the Yugoslav Drama Theater, the statue “Commercial Winner” was given to the Manager of the Belgrade Public Utility Company “Beogradske elektrane”, Mr. Vladan Marković, by the 2003 year winner, and vice-President of the biggest Serbian company “Delta”, Ms. Milka Forcan. That prestigious annual award is awarded by the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce for the best results in the field of economizing.
The Manager of “Beogradske elektrane” Vladan Marković reminded that his company received two recognitions of the same significance in 2008 from the international associations Business Initiative Directions and Trade Leaders Club, awarded in Geneva and in Paris. Those international awards, emphasized Marković, were brought to Belgrade and its citizens.
                    – However, I received the award “Commercial Winner of Belgrade” in my native town and I took this award to the employees of “Beogradske elektrane”, who have really earned it with their effort and work – were the exact words of Manager Vladan Marković.
                    THE PREROGATIVE FOR BETTER LIFE
One of the basic axes for the good functioning of a town includes efficient and successful public utility enterprises. Because of that it, I am much obliged to have the chance to give this award to the youngest public utility company in Belgrade, “Beogradske elektrane” – emphasized Milka Forcan.
Milan Janković, the President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that for more than 25 years the Chamber awards successful companies and people, and that up to date, this award was given to more than 150 businessmen and companies. Belgrade businessmen, as the most elite part of the community, added Janković, want to work and create and to compete between them in achieving better results. It is important to emphasize, he added, that in Belgrade, every day, 150 new companies are formed. That is the proof that good climate has been established in the Serbian capital, emphasized Janković and pointed out that all Belgrade citizens, not only businessmen, have the obligation to build, grow, develop and make better living conditions in Belgrade. That is prerogative for better and higher standard of living not only for generations of Belgrade citizens, but also for those who come to Belgrade for a just a few days to visit, or to study, work, get medical treatment…
                    CONSTANT STRENGTHENING OF COMPETITIVENESS
                     – There is always someone who asks: “Why did not I get the award?” But, here is the chance. Last year’s laureates got fierce competition in this year’s winners. Let them now get their competition in the nominees for the next year – said Milan Janković and congratulated all of this year’s laureates.
Beside “Beogradske elektrane”, “Commercial Winner” for 2007 was also given to “Belgrade Fair”, “ABC Holdings”, “European Group”, “Universal Bank”, “Interkomerc” and “FTO System”. Annual award for “Business woman of the year” was given to Nada Momirović, the owner of “Mona” company, and for the “Business man of the year” to Radomir Zivanović, the owner of “Verano Motors” company. Special rewards for personal achievement in business elevation in their field of work was awarded to Dušan Vidaković, the founder of “Vesti” daily newspaper, to Professor Mića Jovanović (Ph.D.), the Rector of “Megatrend” University and to Rajko Đurđević, the owner of “Autokomerc”.
